There’s a humorous scene in the movie Rita, Sue and Bob Too, where Bob realizes he’s not the Casanova he imagined himself to be.
Bob: “I thought I was great.”
That line came to mind this morning while scrolling through Substack. I stumbled upon an article by a writer I hadn’t encountered before,
. In it, they wrote:"Donald Trump is your President. He was your president from 2016-20. He remained your president from 2020-24, and he still is today, whether or not a very fake election—even one whose narrative ending we quite prefer to the one before it—might have convinced you otherwise in the interim."
It’s a provocative statement, and I’ve entertained similar thoughts for some time now—though the reasoning behind it might be an article for another day.
