What lies within?
If you tell me John is bad and I trust you, my interaction with John will be predicated on what you told me. If the truth I have used my free will to avoid John. If a lie, I have been the victim of basing my decisions on John and this falsehood. If I then told three people John is not a good guy, I am stealing their free will. They tell three people and John killed himself some time later.
How many perpetrators are in this scenario? Who was to blame for Johns's suicide?
Now replace John with any media headline you have discovered is a falsehood, and when you discover it, what did you think and feel?

I will give you some clues
He recognised people were oppressed by slavery and had discovered a way of living in freedom from an oppressor. However, the slave owners were not ready to give up the power and esteem associated with the number of slaves and the material gains from their practice as elites.
He knew how the elite egoic mindset works, he also saw in nature recurring patterns, of oppressors rising and falling, while the non-oppressor grew in abundance, in plants, in animals,s in humans. He understood this as right acts and wrong acts.
He taught the slaves a better way, he lived as an example of a new thought form called freedom, many understood his teaching until his following became so large the clash with the slave owners was going to be inevitable.
He had three choices.
Force
Give up
Compromise
None of these he saw as befitting as a right act, choosing either would be a wrong act and therefore would ultimately fail.
He came up with peaceful non-compliance with the master-slave laws, he and his people refused to comply with wrong acts, and they no longer recognised man’s law, nor the elite judges, corrupt officials, and criminals that enforced the rule of the laws of the elite.
This he knew to be a right action out of love and he called it Natural Law. He knew the manifestation of the non-compliance act would defeat unjust laws, lies, and falsehoods as they were entropic and natural laws way was life and creation.
As we face the monsters, their falsehoods, lies, and propaganda we can thank Mosses for showing a better way, in line with Natural Law.
Your free will has been stolen. Peaceful non-compliance to any anti-human laws is a right action. Everything else is entropy.
Free will is only stolen to the extent that one believes a lie - one steals from oneself. Self awareness has at its heart, gratitude. Through gratitude, one charts a path using heart, mind, and spirit, and is freed from the bondage of attachment to worldly opinionation, fear, and doubt sown by others. One charts one’s own path, the quantum way.
