What lies within?

If you tell me John is bad and I trust you, my interaction with John will be predicated on what you told me. If the truth I have used my free will to avoid John. If a lie, I have been the victim of basing my decisions on John and this falsehood. If I then told three people John is not a good guy, I am stealing their free will. They tell three people and John killed himself some time later.

How many perpetrators are in this scenario? Who was to blame for Johns's suicide?
